Born March 17, 1929 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late James Garnett and Laura May Tewmey. She was a former employee of Pinchback-Halloran Motors, Charme’ Ladies Fashion and Kentucky state government. Survivors include: two sons, Stephen T. (Deanie) Compton of Lexington and Richard L. (Mittie) Compton of Nashville, TN; one sister: Daisy (Nolan) Freeman of Cedar Key, FL; and one brother, James L. (Flo) Tewmey of Harrodsburg, daughter-in-law, Patty Compton of Versailles; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jerome) Collins, Shaun (Crissy) Compton; Kendra Rhea Compton; Eric C. Compton, Stephen T. Compton, Jr., Brandon T. Compton, Kristen A. Compton and Cody R. Compton; three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffery L. Compton, and a sister, Irma Case. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, November 10, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
