A year after her previous CD 'Ribbons And Pearls', California's Miss Kristin returns with a disc of mainly love songs. Her distinctive vocal delivery is very difficult to describe to someone not familiar with her work, but I would tentatively suggest as somewhere between Marilyn Baker and Carly
Simon!
All songs are self written and the lady also plays many of the
instruments. To my ears there are certainly strong tracks here, ''Tangled Up
In Blue'' is an infectious song that sticks with you, "Agony And Ecstasy"
displays some very interesting songwriting exploring the bittersweet
experience of being in love and "Fall Away" is a lively track with more than
a nod to '80s pop rock. A rewarding listen from a hard-to-classify singer.
